Dinara Safina - the new tennis woman star

Dinara Safina (22 years old, #17 WTA ranking) form Russia won her first title this year at Berlin in the 2008 German Tennis Open on clay.
In this tennis tournament Safina D. has won against:
Goerges J. (#113) (2-0) 1/16-final
Kanepi K. (#55) (2-0) 1/8-final
Henin J. (#1) (1-2) Quarter-final
Williams S. (#6) (1-2) Semi-final
Dementieva E. (#9) (1-2) Final
What is quite very important is the fact that from QF to Final, although she was 0-1 at sets, she remains focused and finally won the match. (all three women competitors were under #10 WTA ranking).
This year Safina shows us another woman tennis player much stronger inside and confident in her abilities.
After Berlin tournament, Safina raised 3 places in the WTA tennis ranking, being now on #14 WTA.
